Ever thought of getting a car at a public auction? If you have hesitations, get rid of them. A public auction car sells really well so if you haven’t – it’s time to start thinking of it! You can pick up some really nice cars at an auction – some to use as beaters, others to use as your “real” car, and some just to cannibalize for parts! That’s because at a public auction, car prices are pegged at pretty low. You never know what you’ll find, and you’ll never know how much you’ll pay until you get there.
There are dozens of car auction sites on the web. Some deal with auctions of government cars – police departments, utility departments and any other companies run by the government maintain a fleet of cars, which is renewed every few years. The old cars are auctioned off to make room for the new. Because these are late model cars, they will typically be in good condition, although it’s always a good idea to get under the hood and check, because one thing about cars sold at auction are that they do not have warranties.
